Established in 1995 by John and Clara Hannan, the company operates as a language translation agency. 

Clara has a background in the travel and retail industries, and as an administrator in general commerce, and has lectured Spanish courses at the University of kwaZulu-Natal in Durban, South Africa. She is a native of Ecuador, and studied English in London. She has lived in South Africa for over thirty years, and has experience in the fields of travel, retail, education and translation industries.

Our Experience

We have been involved in translation and interpreting since 1980, and formed Excel Translations in 1995 when the volume of translation work justified this move. Over the years we have provided our services to a wide range of companies throughout the country and overseas.

Our Team

We work with a small group of in-house translators and a network of freelance translators which includes professionals from all over the country and elsewhere as required, who are carefully selected for their skill, integrity, accuracy and experience. South Africa has a rich heritage of languages and a cosmopolitan population, providing a wealth of translation skills ideal for the translation industry.
